Housing & Registration

There is a registration fee of $649 for ASM members or $799 for nonmembers to attend the Summer Bioinformatics Institute. The fee includes meals, beginning with dinner on the first day and ending with breakfast on the last morning. Attendees will be responsible for one dinner on their own during the meeting. Applicants must make their own transportation arrangements to Walnut Creek, CA. The closest airports serving Walnut Creek are the San Francisco and Oakland airports. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Walnut Creek Marriott Hotel for accepted participants; the room rate is $109 per night plus taxes. More housing information will be available upon acceptance into the Institute.

Please note: If you are applying for travel support from your institution, it is important to remember that the Summer Bioinformatics Institute requires participation in a follow-up session at the 2010 ASM Conference for Undergraduate Educators and a poster presentation at the same conference within three years of the Institute. The 2008 conference registration was approximately $700 for the conference, housing, and most meals.
